The End of Winter
Don’t I wish, just kill it off or a natural death would work as well but this is truly starting to depress me and if it doesn’t change soon I am really going to be hard to live with lol !!
More Monarchs and Skippers
Here is one more from last summer, I shot all these little guys along a major highway in Southern Indiana just outside Madison. It was in one of the highway right a ways and they replanted it all in blooming wildflowers and milkweed for all the butterflies that were migrating thru the area.
The field was teaming with butterflies and moths, finding a subject wasn’t the problem it was just trying to get one to sit still for bit that made it problematic !!
I was after the Monarch Butterfly that happened to be migrating thru this portion of the state and there were many in the field. I was able to pick and choose which ones I wanted to set up on. There were also many other moths that were making their way thru the field and I was able to photograph them as well.
The photographs I am sharing came from that field and I can’t wait till late next summer to get back out there and try my hand at photographing these beautiful little gems. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the images !!
Clifty Falls State Park Fall
Even though my photo business is booming and I haven’t had much time to shoot many images in nature I have been able to sneak away to Clifty Falls State Park near Madison Indiana for some nature photography .
I spent most my time shooting Seniors at the park but when they went home I was able to pull out the wide angle or macro lens to get a few fall shots for my portfolio. I thought I might share a few macro leaf shots with you today, usually with leaf shots I go for the vivid look but with these I thought a b&w conversion might me interesting.
So here are couple of conversions, I shot these really early in the morning while there was still moisture on the leaf, I thought it added a cool touch to the monotone scene. i love the lines and tones in these as well, even in death nature can give you some really amazing scenes to capture.
Next time I will share some more colorful images with you, I hope you found these as interesting as I did and don’t forget to click on the image for best view, thanks for stopping by !!
Madison Indiana Winter
OK although it has cooled down a bit I am still in need of a nice walk thru a cool environment, it doesn’t look like it will be coming outside real soon so I will just have to substitute a shot from a few winters ago.
This image came form Clifty Falls State Park near Madison Indiana, we had just received a nice accumulation of snow and the roads were clear enough for me to travel thru the park, it was just one of the many stream images I captured that day. You just can’t beat Clifty Falls for photography, the natural beauty of this park is unparalleled for this part of the country and is a must visit anytime you are in this area.
I purposely blurred the bottom and top part of this image just as a different look for this subject…not sure if I like it what do you think ?
Just thought I might share this with you since the weather has been so hot, it’s kinda nice to go back in time a bit and enjoy a cool moment for a change. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look !
“Madison Indiana Flowers”
Well with the heat wave finally broken and it doesn’t send me into a heat stroke just to travel out into my back yard I thought I might share some work from right outside my backdoor. I tried growing flowers with the express purpose of photographing them and the butterflies that they might attract, but this year that kinda flew by the wayside, I don’t think I could have watered then enough to keep them looking good so I just gave up and will have to work with what is left….Coneflowers !!
These little beauties seemed to be drought resistant and looked great all thru the heatwave, I shared some in an earlier post that looked great and this time I am going to share one of a different color, Yellow !!
For years I have only photographed the striking purple coneflowers but this year I planted the red, white and yellow varieties and the yellows really took off. This flower variety has always been one of my favorites to photograph not only because of hardiness but also ease in shooting them from different positions.
So I was able to get some nice subjects photographed and came up with some nice work..this is one of my favorites.
So if you get a chance and need a easy and beautiful subject to work try out the many different varieties of the coneflower, thanks for stopping by and taking a look !!
