Beautiful evening reflections captured along the Ohio River in Madison Indiana.
The Ohio River along Madison has always made for some beautiful sunsets and sunrises over the years for me and this evening proved to be another example of that.
I captured this along the Ohio River this past fall. Usually sunrise images contain quite a bit of color but this one seemed to scream for a black and white conversion and I was happy to oblige.
The Ohio River has always seemed to present me with many wonderful compositions over the years and this one didn’t disappoint. The hours I have spent walking the riverfront looking for just that right image has always been a favorite past time of mine and hopefully it will be something I can continue for a long time.
There are so many moods that the river displays and no two sunrises are the same, if you happen to be in Madison Indiana you certainly couldn’t do better than taking a sunrise walk along the river and enjoy one the rivers beautiful moods !!
It’s not often that you get a great sunset or rainbow to photograph, but when it happens three evenings in a row, then that’s something special.
And that’s exactly what happened here in Madison Indiana this past week. Starting with a brilliant sunset on the Ohio River on Tuesday. Followed by an amazing sky at the old Jefferson Proving Ground on Wednesday and then ending with a beautiful rainbow along the River Walk Thursday.
And the best part is being able to capture these wonderful events, especially living in these hectic times when being able to slow down and enjoy these special moments is very rare.
So here they are and hopefully by sharing them with you it will help you slow down a bit and enjoy that moment as well.
Not only are the great wildflowers that grow thru out are natural area in bloom but the wonderful trees and flowers that line the streets and historic homes in Madison Indiana are starting to put on a show as well.
Madison has an amazing riverfront lined with many blooming trees especially the lovely cherry trees donated by Arvin Sango. The Lanier Mansion has wonderful blooming trees as well and other flowers that are now beginning to bloom.
So if you are looking for a weekend getaway to get outdoors and see some beautiful scenery give Madison a visit you won’t be disappointed.
The Madison Milton Bridge served as a great center piece for this lovely scene which unfolded earlier this summer. Instead of looking to the west for the sunset I turned east and was treated to this incredible view with all these beautiful reflections !!
